Sorry I haven't posted in a while but things have been really hectic around here. I started back to work at Caris,MPI in June and got strep throat just before July 4th. Not fun. Aaron has been spending a lot of time with his friends and Megan just got her tonsils taken out and a tube removed from her ear. She is doing great and the doctor wants to see her back in 2 weeks.

I will be starting a Medical Coding class on Saturday, Aug. 2nd and am so excited! I wanted to go back to school for this and the company is paying for it so this is God's timing. I'll keep posting as much as I can.

16th Wedding Anniversary

I have learned a lot over this past weekend. 1...your husband can surprise you and e very romantic. 2... Talking and keeping the lines of communication open is very important. 3... Kids are great, but every once in a while you just need to hand out with your spouse and do nothing but bond.

This weekend was the best in a long time. I love my husband more than ever. We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Mesquite and did absoluletely nothing. It was great. No kids or animals sitting between us just us. We had the romance package that came with champagne, rose petals and roses

Today we went to the Ballpark at Arlington to watch the Rangers play the Angels. Those in attendance were, Me, Paula, Jeff, Megan, Aaron, Michael, Ann, John and Stephanie. It was a Merrell family day at the ballpark for Grandpa's birthday. This was the first professional ballgame that Megan, Aaron and myself had ever been to. We had a wonderful time. The final score was 3 to 1 Rangers. The girls were throwing T-shirts into the stands and using a sling shot they got one high enough to reach us and Michael caught it. Megan got a free childs shirt when we arrived and Aaron recieved the shirt that his daddy caught in his glove. It was a good day all around and everyone returned home exhausted!

Sorry I haven't kept up with our blog lately, but there has been so much going on. Last week our youngest cat Peanut was fixed and decided that Megan's Disney princess couch was her new bed. Toby went to the vet with an ear infection and a hot spot on his hind quarter so needless to say they both look like the Pixar lamp.

Michael has been very busy traveling with work. His busy season is coming up and I'm sure he will be on the road even more.

Mothers day was laid back. I received a dozen roses, a card and some chocolate from Mike and the kids. I tried to help Mike cook dinner but only burned the rice, then dropped the second box all over the floor so I decided I should just go sit down. Poor Mikey! Somehow he managed to pull off a wonderful dinner and it was much appreciated.

Megan is just getting over a really bad ear infection. When we took her to the doctor we thought she had strep but it came back negative so they tested for the flu and that was negative. That is when doctor Anderson saw that she had a wax blockage in her ear that still has the tube in it and the infection was really bad behind the blockage. Megan handled it like a trooper and is on the road to recovery.

Aaron has a girlfriend named Allison and she is very sweet and polite. He has been over to her parents house and attended a party with them over the last couple of weeks and they seem to be really nice people. Aaron is happy and that makes mom happy.

I have been having trouble with the Lapband and they ended up removing all of the fluid and we are starting from scratch. Needless to say I have gained back 13 of the 25 lbs I first lost. That is OK because I will get it back off and then some. Other than that lately I have been trying not to let the arthritis get to me and have started easing my way back into basic exercising and hopefully I will be getting my membership to the YMCA so that I can swim. It is less stress for my joints and I love it.

New year 2009

Our family is making major changes in our lives this year. We have started attending First Baptist Church of Royse City and love it. Michael and I take a marriage bible study class and the kids enjoy their bible study classes on Sunday and Wednesdays. Aaron has made many friends in his youth group and I think this will be a positive thing for him. Megan seems to have made friends almost immediately and is quite the social butterfly.

Michael will be on the road alot this year and we are hoping that all of his hard work will be rewarded with a family vacation to Tennessee this summer. Michael has been several times and says it is absolutely beautiful. We want to rent a cabin on the lake so the kids can swim and Michael can get some fishing in as well as sight seeing. I am also hoping the kids and I will be able to take a week to go to New Orleans to visit Aunt Sharon.

I have been working hard on getting things ready for a yard sale in March. Our home has lots of projects that need to be done ASAP. I hope that we are able to get a new couch and loveseat as well as a new dining room table.

My women's bible study group will be starting a in depth study of Esther on February 4th and I can't wait. I am so excited to see the hunger and enthusiasm that the children have for the word of God. I realized just how blessed I am to have such a wonderful husband and two beautiful healthy children and I thank not only God but my husband for his undying love and devotion.
